AVATAR for Android now available from Gameloft

AVATAR for Android now available from Gameloft: "

In a world where a race of giant blue creatures live as one with nature, above a resource desired by heartless alien invaders, one man stands in the way between peace and total annihilation.

That’s the long-story-short-version of James Cameron’s Avatar film that broke box office records last year, and the video game based on the world that Cameron created is now available for Android. The Gameloft-developed Avatar takes place 20 years prior to the events that transpire in the box office smash. However, the basic premise is the same: fight for survival as the humans invade Pandora.

Avatar features incredible graphics for mobile phones and plenty of action. A free demo is available at Gameloft’s website, and that’s also where you’ll be able to purchase the adventure game. Don’t expect to find it in the Android Market, though. Gameloft is steadfast in its decision to only release games through its own mobile store; believe me, I’ve asked on multiple occasions and they aren’t budging. That’s sad because the store is frustratingly inferior to the quality level of its games.
