i-Station produces 7 inch 3D Android tablet that requires glasses

i-Station produces 7 inch 3D Android tablet that requires glasses: "

3D is all the rage these days, from movies, to TVs, to laptops, and now, tablets are jumping into the 3D arena. However, would a 3D tablet that requires glasses be successful in a world with autostereoscopic (glasses-free) technology? Well, Korean manufacturer i-Station is about to test those waters, with their Z3D, a 7 inch Android tablet which requires 3D glasses.

We reported last week about a glasses-free Android tablet being shown on in China, so our first reaction would be to say that the Z3D doesn’t have a chance. The device is said to boast Android 2.1, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, FM radio, a 5000mAh high capacity battery, either 32GB or 64GB of storage, and 1080p video playback.

The device is slated to launch this November, and is priced at roughly $500 dollars US. We’ve said our piece, so now, we’d like to hear what you have to say! Do you think that a 3D tablet which requires glasses can compete in a world where glasses-free technology is on the rise? Share your comments below.
